China’s coldest winter for 100 years and record snow levels across Northeast America. Global temperatures have not risen since 1998. Carbon emissions have never driven climate change because as ice core samples clearly show carbon dioxide is a consequence of temperature increase and not a cause of it, sometimes lagging behind by as much as 800 year Want to Save the Earth? Turn off the Lights for One Hour Earth Hour 2008 was a remarkable event, and in towns and cities across America people "turned out" to lend their voice to the worldwide call for action on climate change. On March 29th, people everywhere turned off their lights–to make a statement, to help find new ways to reduce their impact on the environment. We did it - did you? Anthony Watts has a must-see flashing gif -- a tried and true tradition in the blogosphere -- that reveals the greenwashing of the original story. Note that the activist-induced changes were not factual; they had to do only with the impression conveyed. I, for one, am delighted to know that the BBC Paleos, Obama, Right, and Left Surprisingly, two debates have largely occupied the newly live American Conservative blog: one about what exactly constitutes “paleoconservatism” and one about whether conservatives should support Barack Obama for president. The two debates are intertwined in that several of the TAC writers seem uncertain whether paleos should continue to think of themselves as a dissident minority within the conservative movement, or whether, under present conditions, their ideas might get more traction on th Diet for a New Climate Are we really going to spend billions of dollars in research and global climate detection equipment and prevention measures because we're worried about the temperature of the Earth going up? We'll all be dead before these apparent climate changes have even the slightest effect on the health of mankind. Unless, of course the health effects are on the mental state of the people who are capable of starting nuclear war or terror (on that basis, maybe there is some truth to this hypothesis). The mon

Someone needs to send Ted Turner a copy of Demographic Winter, so he'll stop making clueless statements like this: During a interview on PBS, the founder of CNN, Ted Turner, said the reason for climate change is because “We're too many people” and that the government needs to “stabilize the population” with measures such as China’s one child per family policy. According to Lifesitenews.com, Turner made his statements during an interview on the Charlie Rose Program on PBS on April 1. He said The Earth Will Start Cooling in 2008 Global cooling in ‘08. It may sound like a campaign slogan, but it could quite possibly be the truth. According to a leading scientist the earth will begin cooling in 2008. The head of the World Meteorological Organisation said La Nina - the weather phenomenon which is cooling the Pacific - is likely to trigger a small drop in average global temperatures compared with last year. The prediction - which follows a bitterly cold winter in China and the Arctic - is prompting some sceptics to qu Q&A: Greenpeace's Al-Hajj Talks Green Consoles [This Alistair Wallis-penned interview ran late last week on Gamasutra, and is notable because I think it's one of the first times someone has followed up with the organization and quizzed them in more details on their skewering of game hardware companies for not being sufficiently 'green'.] International activist organization Greenpeace recently released an updated version of its report ranking the three current games consoles in terms of their environmental impact. Certain segments of the population, particular David vs. Goliath: The Emerging Climate Fault Line A new fault line has emerged in the climate movement amidst a firestorm of debate over the past week. On one side is a group of old-guard and well-known environmentalists, and on the other is a newly forming alliance of climate and energy scientists who are challenging traditional beliefs held at the highest levels of the environmental establishment. What is happening should invigorate young activists to continue challenging conventional wisdom – and serve as an alarm to the entire movement.
